Open up the app on your phone. You should see an image that looks something like this.

Decide where you want to go. If you are leaving from the place where you are currently, Citymapper will know where you are and bring up suggestions for the start location. You then would need to click on the correct location to insert it into the start location. Insert the place that you would like to end up at in the end. See the example below.

Let’s say that you are staying at the K+K Hotel George in Kensington and you have tickets to visit the Tower of London.

Input that information and click on the Go button in the lower right-hand corner.

Citymapper will then bring up a map and all transportation options currently available to you. 

Simply choose the best option for you and click on the image.

Citymapper will give you the fastest route, the price you can expect to pay, and the minutes it will take to get you to your destination.

In addition, it will show you a new map with the mode of transportation you chose.

For example, the image below shows the number of underground stops to reach the chosen destination.

After you have chosen which mode of transport to take, simply follow Citymapper’s instructions.

The app will tell you which subway station is nearest to you, how long it will take to walk there, which train to take in which direction, the station and platform to exit, and finally, the amount of time it will take to walk to your destination from the station.
