Use Pantry Staples to Whip up a Tasty Meal Like Chili, Mac & Cheese, or Spaghetti.
With pantry staples, creating a delicious and hearty meal has never been easier.
You can craft various meals from the pantry, from chili to mac and cheese to spaghetti. Beans can be cooked with tomatoes, onions, and spices to make a savory chili, while pasta noodles are easily combined with canned sauce or herbs for an equally satisfying meal.
Mix in some green onions or sun-dried tomatoes for an extra special dinner. It’s an affordable way to add nutrition, color, and taste to classic recipes that your family will love.
Things to always have on hand:
- canned tomatoes
- tomato sauce
- tomato paste
- canned beans (kidney, white & black bean varieties)
- canned vegetables (green beans, canned corn)
- select fresh vegetables (carrots, onions, green & red peppers, tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, zucchini, celery, & potatoes)

- herbs & spices (garlic powder, chili powder, basil, oregano, Italian seasoning, & taco seasoning)

Stir-Fry Vegetables with Rice for a Quick, Easy, Kid-Friendly Meal
Eating vegetables can often be viewed as a chore, but with the right recipes, they can be delicious and quick to prepare.
A great way to incorporate vegetables into dinner is by creating a stir-fry. All vegetables, from peppers and onions to broccoli, zucchini, and mushrooms, can be used. You just need to cut them into cubes or strips and throw them in an oiled pan. When vegetables are done, serve them over rice.
If you want to make your stir-fry even healthier, swap out white rice for brown rice or stir-fry with quinoa.
Experiment with herbs and seasonings until you find what tastes best!

Soups are great ways to enjoy leftovers, as they can take almost any type of ingredients. Add some cooked chicken or hard-boiled eggs for extra protein, top with croutons for flavor and crunch, or drizzle with a flavorful dressing to give your leftovers soup a taste of its own.
No matter which way you go with leftovers, it’s sure to be tasty.
